The highest speed trains in our country reach over 600 kilometers per hour, ranking first in the world.


This 2-kilometer, 940nm infrared laser fill light is used in a new high-speed rail laser night vision lighting project, and the customer has put forward new application requirements for the entire infrared laser night vision lighting solution. The biggest difference from usual is that there is a very strict requirement for the uniformity of the laser spot: the uniformity must be above 85%.


Because it is extremely difficult to ensure that the infrared laser light source changes from a nanoscale point to a spot with a diameter of several tens of meters through an optical lens, and the irradiance at each point needs to maintain such high uniformity. The reliability and stability of the laser, the scientific design of the optical path, and the control between overall brightness and laser spot homogenization technology are all new and higher-level requirements.

On April 19, 2024, the first batch of infrared laser fill light inspections began. The customer specially sent two senior engineers to assist us on site for three consecutive days and two nights to provide guidance on the quality and performance of infrared laser lights.


According to the testing method proposed by the customer, multiple light spots with different distances were set up from near to far for testing, starting from a distance of 5 meters. Perform irradiance detection on 16 points with different radii and eight directions in a beige shape at the midpoint and edge of each spot, with an accuracy of 0.001mW for each point.


In the end, among the thousands of collected statistical data, the spot uniformity of all samples was within the range of 85-95%. The customer highly praised our technical solutions, quality control, and quick response, and immediately finalized the order delivery requirements starting from May. This means that the 3KM Optoelectronics will also shoulder the important task of being the world's fastest train and providing escort along the line.
